Western United States Native American themed pitcher depicts several Indians on horseback hunting buffalo, thus the name “Buffalo Hunt” stamped on the underneath, along with “Buffalo Pottery” and an image of the buffalo logo in blue (see images). The iconic “Buffalo Pottery Company” became famous for manufacturing pottery for the armed forces and later for national park venues such as Yosemite. The pitcher is completely original with no repairs and no repaints, no chips; it is colored and hand painted in shades of dark to light green with gold “speckled” highlighting; most of the gold is intact (typically wears off}. Labeled “semi-vitreous” underneath indicating post 1910 to 1920 manufacture; embodies a sound and well made piece of pottery that can be used with confidence, or put on display.
Nice clean and authentic item for those who collect authentic western artifacts in great condition.
