Uncle Sam Still Bank ‘Composition,’ circa 1940

American manufacture; this colorful hand-painted still bank depicting Uncle Sam is all original with no repairs and no repaint. Fabulous crazing throughout indicative of original paint. It is quite difficult to find, especially in all original condition. It measures 6 3/4″ high. Coins are removed via a twist lock hinged trap at the base (See image).
Uncle Sam theme suggests Americana and kind of “folksy”.
Dimensions: 6 3/4″ high x 5 1/2″ deep x 5″ wide
Note: “National Security Bank” is embossed on Uncle Sam’s hat (See image). That particular bank opened in 1934 in Newport, Oregon and was in existence until 1987 when it reorganized.

It is listed in Andy Moore’s “The Penny Bank Book” at #149 on page 70.
