Marked “P.N.C.W. Made in U.S.A.” this silver plated dish is in the family of Victorian figural items manufactured and so popular in the late 1800’s, along with napkin rings and other tableware. It is in the form of a nicely detailed peacock standing erect with his feathers proudly displayed behind him. I was not able to identify the specific company (could be pairpoint), but there were a plethora of silver plate companies in the latter part of the 19th century with unattributed markings.
Dimensions: 9″ long x 4 7/8″ wide x 4″ high
Note: Purchased from estate and was being used as a calling card holder.
The silver plate is in excellent all original bright condition. Any collector of peacocks or figural items from this era would be proud to own this hard to find item.
