Manufactured circa 1944, in commemoration of the World War II American troops, this very sought after collectible; and highly colorful lithographed tin toy, was made by the “Unique Art Manufacturing Company”, New Jersey (marked and labeled at the rear of the jeep); and licensed by “G.I. Joe Copyright” (also stamped on the back of the jeep—see images).
The wind-up toy works by an attached key-wind which, when wound, and released on the floor; the car, in a “herky-jerky” fashion, goes back and forth, thrusting the G.I. driver to and fro into the windshield and then back into his seat, before going forward again—-fabulous action and a great visual (Upon request: see short 15 second video).
The toy is in very good and completely original condition with bright paint and lithography and no restoration or touch-up of any kind.
Dimensions: 7″ long x 3 1/4″ wide x 7 1/2″ high
