Nicely proportioned and well made early 19th century American Mahogany drop leaf table with no restorations and in completely original condition and untouched surface.
The entire surface has mellowed to a beautiful patina; their are several scratches to the table top (normal for a table this old with normal use and the original finish); see images.
Nicely hued mahogany grain to the end caps and table top; all in all, a nice color.
The legs are nicely carved with trumpet turnings to the top part and acanthus leaf turnings twisted around the leg to the tapered bottom; ending in the original brass capped castors.
The four corners of the “drop leaves” are accented with a heart shaped notch out; leaves are supported by a fitted pull out from the table top support; leaves affixed by their original brass hinges (see image).
Dimensions: 29″ high x 36″ deep x 51 1/2″ long (when open and leaves extended)
