Single country Queen Anne side chair with rush seat; serpentine crest rail, vasiform splat, bulbous front stretcher, and nicely turned front legs ending in Spanish paw feet. Chair is from New England circa mid 18th century and probably cherry wood. Rush seat possibly replaced; no restoration with peg and tenon construction to all joins. Came from a recent San Francisco estate sale of fine antique furniture.
Almost identical chair referenced on page 18 of “Albert Sack Fine Points of Furniture”.
